SmartMed
Our research and interviews revealed that patients and caregivers need to manage better medication to reduce stress from the recovery process. The main problems they are facing are:

-
Unclear information about the drug and its side effects
-
Miscommunication between caregivers regarding the patient’s condition
-
Taking the wrong medicine
-
Forgetting/Missing the time to take medicine

This project seeks to answer the question, "How can we help patients and caregivers better manage medication and side effects during recovery?"

Design Rationale
Minimize potential errors that patients and caregivers will encounter in their everyday medicine-taking
Goal
How we address the problem
1. Non-tech-savvy audiences need physical assistance instead of virtual system alone.
2. When there is a harmony between the reality we observe and virtual system that we respond to, our Stimulus-Response Compatibility (SRC) will occur. Thus leads to our perception and action become faster and more accurate.
Solutions
1. A mobile application
2. A physical pill box
3. The digital and physical system work together in tandem to display information give action cues
Impact

Usability Test
After we created the wireframes, we did our usability evaluation. There were 5 tasks in total:
Task 1: Add new medicine by scanning
Task 2: Set 2 reminders
Task 3: Delete the new medicine
Task 4: Use the Map function
Task 5: Use the Check function
